The Thursday Night Photo Workshop is back!  Just in time for Christmas…well, in time to learn how to use the new camera that you got for Christmas.

So, you have a really cool DSLR , a couple of lenses, but you are scared to take it off automatic.  You’re not alone!  So many people spend the money on a nice camera, but they just aren’t comfortable enough, confident enough, or just plain don’t understand photography enough to take it off the automatic setting.  Or maybe they use the different settings but they feel their pictures just lack the pizazz that they saw in the view finder when they took the picture.  Whatever the case, this may be just the thing that you need to get started in photography, or take your photography to the next level!

The Thursday Night Photo Workshop is a series of 3 workshop sessions that will help you understand the basics of photography, teach you new skills and give you the confidence to help you get the most out of your camera.  The workshops are 3 Thursdays, and cover “The Basic”, “Beyond the Basics”, and “Unleash Your Inner Artist.”

“The Basics” covers just that: understanding exposure; the camera and what all those buttons do; lenses and which ones do I really need; and basic composition to help add impact to your photos.

“Beyond the Basics” continues where we left off at the end of the first session:  getting the most out of your camera; accessories that you need, and some you may want; the basics of flash photography; and the basics of post-processing images in your computer.

“Unleash Your Inner Artist” is where we put it all together: seeing and controlling light; better people photography; the creative power of HDR photography; the power of the great print.

These workshops are designed for beginners, hobbyists and enthusiasts that want to take their photography to “the next level.”

The Workshops are 3 consecutive Thursdays, (imagine that), January, 17, 24 and 31 from 7:00 to 9:00 in the evening.  Cost of the workshop is $35.00 per night (separate), or SAVE $15.00 by purchasing all 3 sessions for $90.00.  The first and second sessions will be held at the Brighton Town Hall and the third will be at the studio of Mike Davenport Photography, (addresses below).

“The Basics”  Thursday, January 17th, 7:00 to 9:00 at Brighton Town Hall, 25000 Burlington Road, Kansasville, WI (just west of Brighton Elementary School, at the corner of highway 75 and highway 142).

“Beyond the Basics”  Thursday, January 24th, 7:00 to 9:30 at Brighton Town Hall.

“Unleash Your Inner Artist”  Thursday, January 31st at Mike Davenport Photography studio, 22911 45th Street, Bristol, WI
